Because PPIN describes rare cognitive changes without pathology, it carries elevated risk of misinterpretation, identity fixation, or inappropriate amplification. These guardrails are intended to preserve scientific integrity, individual well-being, and public trust. CORE ETHICAL PRINCIPLES 1. Non-Pathologization PPIN must not be framed as a disorder, diagnosis, or clinical syndrome. It does not imply deficit, abnormality, or treatment requirement. Use of PPIN language should explicitly avoid medicalization where no impairment exists. 2. Non-Superiority Framing PPIN must not be presented as a superior, enlightened, elite, or privileged cognitive state. It represents a variant adaptive response, not an evolutionary advancement or moral elevation. 3. Evidence Before Meaning Interpretation must follow observation. Claims of significance, purpose, or meaning should never precede empirical evidence. Hypotheses must remain falsifiable and open to revision. 4. Identity Restraint Individuals should be discouraged from adopting PPIN as a core identity, role, or explanatory totalizer. PPIN describes a pattern of cognition, not a personhood or destiny. MISUSE RISKS Potential misuse includes: - Self-diagnosis without differential evaluation - Reinforcement of grandiosity or exceptionalism - Attribution of special authority, insight, or mission - Co-option into spiritual, ideological, or commercial narratives - Social amplification without empirical grounding These risks increase when PPIN is discussed outside clinical or research c
